'WE WILL NOT CHANGE' TEHRAN DEFIANT MESSAGE TO US

Supreme Leader of IRAN’s has rejected Donald Trump’s offer of ‘unconditional talks’ to improve bilateral ties between the two countries while accusing President Rouhani’s government of economic mismanagement in the wake of re-imposed US sanctions on the country over its nuclear deal.

Last week, Washington re-imposed sanctions on the country after pulling out of a 2015 international deal aimed at curbing Iran's nuclear programme in return for an easing of economic sanctions. Mr Trump has also threatened to penalise companies that continue to operate in Iran.

But Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has the final say on all policy in the Islamic Republic, outright rejected Mr Trump’s offer of re-igniting negotiations between the two countries.
Iranian officials - including the country’s President, Hassan Rouhani - previously rejected the new offer from the US.
